Social Action Committee

Welcome to the Temple Sinai Social Action Committee web page! Our goal is to share our skills, our time, and our energy to work for social justice and gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness) for our neighbors who need help with food, clothing, shelter, and education. All congregants are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Social Action Committee.

Ongoing programs include outreach to those in need (sick, elderly, mourners), resettlement of Jewish families in need, and reading to the students in the Lynn School system.

We strive to run a project every month or two.. The 2026-2027 Social Action Calendar may be found below. Please consider donating and/or helping whenever possible.

The Social Action Committee is pleased to sponsor the following programs and events in the coming year:

School supply drive for Lynn Public Schools
Holiday drive for Lynn and Salem shelters|
Writing Hanukkah cards to IDF soldiers
Food drive for local food pantry
Monthly reading to young children in a Lynn Public School
Volunteering at My Brother’s Table
Preparation of mitzvah meals for congregants in need or celebrating a mitzvah
