Susan Weiner, Executive Director

Susan began her career at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA graduating with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She worked for a private early childhood program after graduation before taking on a Special Education classroom in the Malden Public School system. She was then approached by her Temple at the time, Temple Tifereth Israel of Malden, to implement and build a preschool program from the ground up. Once completed, she was asked to direct the new school and also take on the position of Religious School Director, thus becoming the first Education Director of Temple Tifereth Israel.

Then taking her background in education to another level by working at the Mayan Book Company as an administrative assistant and curriculum advisor, she was ultimately promoted to manager of the Religious School book division. She then went on to work at Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead as an administrative assistant for the Temple at large and the Religious School. Eventually, looking to get back into management, she accepted the position of Executive Director at Temple Sinai.

In addition to her professional work, Susan has been a life member of Hadassah since 1998. In 1996 she received the Woman of the Year award for her dedication and work in the chapter. She was an active volunteer at Cohen Hillel Academy in Marblehead where her daughter attended for nine years. Deeply committed to Congregational life, she has been actively involved in her Congregation, assuming many volunteer roles and stepping in where the need has been great. Susan is married to Lawrence “Larry” Weiner and they have one daughter, Elana, who is currently teaching in Virginia.
