The Torah study group at Temple Sinai explores the uncanny relevance each week’s Torah portion so often has to world events, community affairs, and our personal lives.
We learn from one another in lively discussion as our Torah study group encounters the Torah text as well as classic and modern commentaries. Over the course of a year, we read and discuss the entire Torah.
No previous experience or Hebrew fluency is necessary – all are invited to join!. We share insights and different perspectives gained from our own life experiences, professional expertise, world views and general knowledge. Our study often reveals fascinating historical context, examines linguistic nuance, or highlights cultural curiosities. We consider issues of ethics applicable to our lives today, challenge the understanding of our values, and elucidate the mitzvot. Frequently, we finds gems of wisdom. Always, we have fun!
